Portchester Pétanque Club

This year our chosen charity was reannounced as Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association.

Our charity melee was held on Saturday 13th May, we had a turnout of 31 players including members of local clubs River Hamble, Clymping, Southsea & Muscliff, as well as a good showing from our junior club members.

We were treated to great weather on the day, with high-class games to show and the event raised over £250, more than £50 than last year. Thanks again to Mike Powlesland for organising and for all the helpers on the day.

The competition format comprised of 3 timed games in the morning, followed by 2 timed games in the afternoon. The final results:

1. Peter May (Portchester)  5 wins  +42 points

2. Anthony Lynn (Southsea) 5 wins +32 points

3. Wendy Hall (Portchester) 5 wins +28 points

4. Paula Fauvel (Fareham) 5 wins +22 points

Thanks to all for attending and donating! We look forward to presenting the cheque to Portsmouth Downs Syndrome Association on behalf of the club. We hope for another great event next year.
